I chose a pack of newports as my advertisement for class. The reason I chose this was because in American culture many people are smokers. I myself, am a smoker. My cigarette of choice is a newport, which happens to be one of the most expensive brands of cigarettes. Cigarettes are so popular that the state has been taxing cigarettes more and more. Although cigarettes have become quite an expensive habit, people keep buying and can't seem to knock the addiction. The price of cigarettes has raised at a remarkable rate since my Parents have grown up. The price of cigarettes will continue to rise, since our culture will keep consuming due to the horrible addiction.
I would have to agree with you that smoking is apart of the American Culture. Isee more and more people smoking now of days. It doesn't bother me at all, I think it's a person's choice to do that. I think it's insane for them to raise the prices of cigrattes as the number of consumers increases. You would think that if they had more consumers that the prices might go down but still make the same profit. I think that the cigratte companines who raise their prices only do it because it's a form of control. They know once someone is hooked on cigrattes, that they will buy their cigrattes no matter what the cost of them are.
