So in the article "Grammar errors make you look dumb," it discusses all the common spelling errors. I've noticed alot of my facebook friends have been guilty of these mistakes. I have sometimes also made the mistake of using the wrong contraction or wrong word....Most of the time I use the wrong word example:(their,there,and they're) its because I 'm being sloppy and not taking my time to write a well-written paper.
Most employers or anyone else important would most likely overlook your application if you have made these mistakes. You are either illiterate, or you just don't care. When people make these mistakes I even think they sound dumb. There so simple and so easy to make, but if you actually take the time to over-look your work, than you won't have these problems.

Hi Taylor. It's so funny that you wrote about this, because I just read an article on one of my "professional" networks that was talking about job applicants and resumes. Get this (and I was surprised)--the average amount of time a hiring representative spends on a resume is 6 seconds!! Yep, just 6 seconds! So, I have to agree with you here. If there are crazy (or any) errors on a resume that someone glances at in those 6 seconds, I think it's going to end up in the "no" pile.
